SCHOOL PROJECTS

These are some of the projects I worked on during my time at Full Sail University.

Cave Rave.gif

CAVE RAVE

A 2D side-scrolling game where the player plays as a snail and must jump, dash, and wall-climb their way through obstacles to reach the end goal of each level. I did design documentation, editing, designed some of the levels in the game, helped script the wall climb mechanic, and stayed in contact with the artist to make sure the art was going in the right direction. If you want to play the game, click on the button below and when downloading the zip folder, double-click on the "Triforce_pnp7_Milestone4.exe" file.

SCRAPS

A third person physics-based game where the player progresses by using a tool called the Gravnull that allowed the player to pick up objects, put them down, and launch them (very similar to the gravity gun from Half-Life 2). Each person associated with the project built a separate level for the game, and we put all our levels together to make one massive level for the player to explore. I was involved in collision detection, animations, textures, puzzle design, and checkpoint and hint systems.

Scraps Board Game

INTERGALACTIC TRADE ORGANIZATION

ITO is a cooperative, roguelike board game where the goal of the players is to survive and overcome the encounters that bring danger to the players' ship while having the ship reach its final destination. If the ship takes too much damage or all the players' units die, the game ends in a loss. I helped design the overall board, developed unit mechanics, and helped write and edit the game design document for the game. If you want to play a digital version of the game, you will need to make an account on Roll20 and need to be granted access by me (I'll get an email notification on it).

SLOT MACHINE CONCEPT

(Based on Night in the Woods)

The point of this project was just to study and understand the systems that work behind games. In this case, the system of a slot machine. The theme of the machine is based on the indie game Night in the Woods. However, there were extra criteria stating we had to add an extra gimmick to the machine. In my case, I added a music minigame to the slot so the machine itself becomes a musical instrument.

BATTLE ON THE BRIDGE

Board Game

Battle on the Bridge is a competitive, multiplayer board game that can either be played with teams of 1 vs. 1 or 2 vs. 2. The goal of the game is to reduce your opponents' game piece health to 0 or capture the opponents' base. This is done by summoning minions and building bridges to access the other side of the board. In short, it is like a tabletop version of a MOBA game. This was the first time I created my own board game along with using flowcharts as well.

FIRST PITCH PRESENTATION

Game Mechanics

This is the first pitch presentation I did over the course of the program. To give some context behind this project, we were first tasked with creating a tabletop game for the first half of the class. During the last half, the team was supposed to take our tabletop game and make it into a digital one, which involved thinking about what sections of the game needed to be changed to do this. This pitch presentation is the result of those changes.

FINAL PORTFOLIO PITCH PRESENTATION

Project and Porfolio

This pitch presentation was one of the several ideas pitched to the professor and the team I was assigned to.
